Overview
These one-of-a-kinds, 1:12 scale miniatures, inspired by the traditional Japanese art of Sampuru,–from the English word “sample”– are accurate three-dimensional and realistic representations of a restaurant’s finished dishes as a way to show foreigners who don’t speak or read Japanese, what’s on the menu of a particular food joint.

Process
Hand sculpted, extruded, and custom painted.

Polymer clay, acrylic paint, epoxy resin, and PVC.
